Sunday About Town

I spent last night my favorite way: watching movie after movie after movie.  I did notice a change in my normal movie posture - which includes alternating between sitting with my legs up on a footrest and laying sideways on the sofa - which I'm calling a great sign!

I folded laundry, even made trips up and down stairs a couple times to put it away, I got groceries put away (no, you don't understand. That doesn't always happen.  I have been known to throw milk away the morning after I buy it b/c it never made it to the fridge), and I WALKED IN PLACE like a loser in my living room.

Fortunately I learned a long time ago to laugh at myself, so the marching was pretty funny IMO.  The only downside to this marathon is that I fell asleep somewhere in the middle of J Edgar Hoover at 4 or 5am...and didn't wake up until about 1pm today.

That about sums up how I felt when I looked at my clock.  Again, a good change I noted was that the consequence of this realization wasn't another three hours of sleep.  Nope, I got myself up and in the shower and was dressed and ready for the day by 1:30.

I know, I couldn't believe it either! Lisa and I got together with the boys and went out on the town, and it ended up being a great day.  I want to take a moment and encourage you all to go to Trader Joe's if it's within 30 minutes of your normal driving routine.  I found Spinach & Kale Greek Yogurt Dip that tastes just like Spinach dip and is only 30 calories and 2.5 grams of fat for 2 tbsp.  I figure I ate about 4 tbsp tonight, but that plus my 18 Chip'ins (another great find - I don't like diet food that tastes like diet food) ended up being 190 calories and 7.5 grams of fat, as well as 3g of Fiber and 24 carbs.

I call that a win - for now!  Eventually I want to get away from chips of any kind and say buh-bye to dips altogether.  But I think the trick for me to be successful is to not hate my life.  And I'm a person who can easily kill a bag of chips and entire spinach dip container in one sitting... and then roam around the fridge to see what's to eat.

Baby steps!

I'm going to try the spinach and kale dip on some chicken this week - I think it will make a nice glaze and pair nicely with some peppers I got today.  (another great find from Trader Joe's today - they're pre-sliced and frozen! Yes please says this single lady.)

I had a weak moment at Taco Bell - true story.  I checked on My Fitness Pal (MFP here on out) when we were there and got stoked because the chicken chalupa was the same calories as the fresco chicken burrito - and I really wanted the chicken chalupa.  So I got it! But then I went online tonight and looked at the full nutritional value, and the two are nowhere similar.  Tons more fat in the chalupa, as well as sodium and carbs.  AND I got the chalupa MEAL, which was two of those bad boys AND a hard shell taco - which we're not going to even discuss how bad that was for me.

Thanks goes out to Lisa for stopping me from going up for another burrito when I'd plowed through that.  I was seriously hungry and even pouty that I couldn't have more.  I don't think eating at Taco Bell is a good idea for me at all, even with their healthy choices.  Doesn't it seem that tacos get eaten SO QUICKLY?  I need food that takes a while.

Alright, it's almost 11 and I have to get up super early for a fresh start to the LOVELY work week.  Talk to you tomorrow - we'll see how I do with GOTC on a Monday!
